1971 Jaguar E-Type Series II OTS

• Fully documented restoration

• Rebuilt 4.2 with desirable triple Weber conversion

• Working, modern A/C and power steering

A late Series 2 car, this E-Type received an extensive restoration and has benefitted from light use and numerous upgrades since. Taken down to bare metal, the body was thoroughly inspected and received new floors before being properly sealed up and painted. The rest of the build included similar attention to detail and has resulted in a very exciting spec for this stunning Jaguar. Now offered after a full servicing and tune-up at Briarcliff Classic and Imported, the E-Type is truly turn-key and ready for a long season of top-down motoring.

Complemented by its vibrant shade of red, the car's body shows very well, with straight panels and absolutely no sign of rust or damage. The underside is similarly tidy and speaks to a dry car that has been preserved and restored with care. Chrome and glass look excellent throughout, especially the wire wheels, while all trim is intact and correct. Due to a new trunk seal the rear lid sits ever-so-slightly high, but should settle in with time.

Inside, the cabin has been left mostly original, showcasing perfectly-aged tan leather seats. Lovely matching carpets and door cards along with an excellent dash ensconce the driver and passenger, while all gauges and switchgear are working and have strong cosmetics too. Along the base of the dash the car features an upgraded, modern A/C system, utilizing a Japanese compressor and all new hoses to deliver reliable, cold air. All vent slats are included, but not installed. Above, a new soft top is fitted, while in the trunk the floor and side carpets look great.

Cosmetics aside, this build features some very desirable mechanical upgrades. The rebuilt 4.2 six is tuned perfectly and breathes through a set of three Weber carburetors and an Italian exhaust by Ansa. It pulls like a freight train and sounds sensational, the extra power and roar an especially welcome addition when the top is down. New tires and a fresh brake booster keep it all in check when necessary, while the flawless gearbox and a new clutch make every shift effortless. Recently serviced and with a rebuilt power steering system as well, the Jag is easy to drive slow and even easier to drive fast.
